Pictures From NYFB Government Awareness Institute

Aaron Albrecht and Kyle Smith of Royalton Hartland High
School represented Niagara County farm bureau at NY Farm
Bureau's Government Institute. Both boys are integral to
their family farms, in addition to being honor students,
and varsity athletes.

They had the rare opportunity to sit in the historic
Senate Chamber.
They visited Senator Maziarz office, but the Senator was
busy with his constituents back in Niagara County, so
the farm boys took over. Don't worry Senator these
country boys have your back!

They did have the opportunity to discuss with Kim
Ireland the pressing issues effecting their family
farms: the high cost of energy, particularly diesel
fuel, the high cost of fertilizer and feed corn. They
discussed the uncertain future of agribusiness for their
generation. The Senator is the chairman of the energy
committee, and they discussed the opportunities of
alternate energy sources available in Niagara County;
particularly wind energy.

Super Heroes? These boys need capes!
